Reyaz joined AMC in September 2010 from IFC’s Global Manufacturing and Services Department where, through August 2010, he headed the sector team responsible globally for IFC’s investments in solar, wind and other renewables supply chains, as well as for energy-efficient machinery and transport equipment. Reyaz joined IFC in 1987 in the Energy Unit, where he worked on oil and gas projects in South Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and East Asia. From 1992 through 1999, he worked in IFC’s Corporate Finance Services Department, focusing on privatization advisory services to clients mainly in Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America and Africa. He was appointed Division Manager in that group in 1997. In 2000, Reyaz took an external assignment in San Francisco, as Vice-President, Strategy of Softbank Emerging Markets, a joint venture between Softbank Corporation of Japan and IFC, where he was responsible for establishing and overseeing operations across the target markets, including offices or representation in: Malaysia, Poland, South Africa, Turkey and South America. He returned to IFC in 2002 as Division Manager in IFC’s Global Information & Communication Technologies Department, transferring to the Global Manufacturing and Services Department in 2003.

Reyaz graduated from Queens’ College, Cambridge University with a degree in Engineering and Economics. He worked for the Boston Consulting Group before receiving his MBA from INSEAD in 1982. Following a short stint of research and teaching at INSEAD, he joined Courtaulds PLC and subsequently worked at SG Warburg Securities until 1987.
