Based in Hong Kong, John focuses on Pomona’s secondary and primary fund-of-funds businesses in Asia and emerging markets, including on sourcing and analysis for private equity investments, and on relationships with regional limited partners. Before joining Pomona, John was a co-founder and Managing Partner of EMAlternatives, LLC, a private equity fund of funds focused on emerging markets. He previously worked as a Senior Investment Analyst with Global Environment Fund. John began his international career in 1990 at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, where he worked on the staffs of Ambassadors Robert S. Strauss and Jack F. Matlock. John received an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College and a BA from the University of Washington.
