Heinz Blenneman, Principal, Blennemann Family Investments
As principal at his family office, Blennemann Family Investments, Heinz is a global investor in private equity, private debt, and real estate, with a passion for networking with others. He serves on the Advisory Faculty at the Institute for Private Investors (a network of ~300 family offices) and on the Emerging Manager Sub-Committee at the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA, a private equity network). Heinz began his career in technology, building a technology team at Juniper Networks and teaching engineering at Stanford University as a consulting professor.
Aoifinn Devitt, CIO, Chicago Policemen’s Annuity and Benefit Fund
Aoifinn Devitt has worked with institutional clients for her entire investment career, which has spanned the US, Europe and Asia. In April 2016 she assumed the role of CIO of the Chicago Policemen’s Annuity and Benefit Fund. From 2002 to 2006 she worked as a specialist consultant at Cambridge Associates Limited (London and Boston), where she specialized in the hedge fund area and worked with a range of institutional investors on their alternative allocations. In 2006 she established Clontarf Capital, a research and consulting firm with a particular focus on assisting public pension funds. She focused on providing education, research, due diligence, portfolio construction, monitoring and rehabilitation advice and worked extensively with staff, investment committees and third parties to enable them to achieve their investment goals. She also developed a particular specialty in Asia-focused alternatives, developing and leading a product focused on that area, as well as in the tactical asset allocation and opportunistic credit areas.
Previously Aoifinn worked in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs in London and as a corporate attorney at Debevoise & Plimpton (New York and Hong Kong).
Aoifinn graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a first class degree in law and received a BCL (Oxon) and an MBA (INSEAD, Dean’s list).
Robert Petty, Managing Partner and Co-Founder, Clearwater Capital Partners
Robert Petty is Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Clearwater Capital Partners and a member of the Firm’s Investment and Management Committees. Since founding the Firm in 2001, Mr. Petty and Co-Founder Amit Gupta have invested profitably across cycles, sectors and geographies, building an Asia-focused business that is one of the largest credit investing firms in the region today. Over his nearly 30-year career, Mr. Petty has focused on Asia-dedicated credit investments, with broad expertise in direct lending, stressed credit and distressed and special situations strategies. Mr. Petty’s principal responsibilities at Clearwater encompass portfolio management, origination and overall management of the Firm. Prior to founding Clearwater, Mr. Petty worked as a capital committer in Asian credit for fifteen years at Lehman Brothers and Peregrine Fixed Income, before moving to the investment side of the business working for March Lasry at Amroc Investments for three years.
Mr. Petty sits on the Board of four Clearwater portfolio companies and also serves on the Boards of two non-profit organizations, The Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA) and EngenderHealth. Mr. Petty holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Brown University and is based in Hong Kong.

David has accumulated over 30 years experience in international capital markets in a career that has taken him from New York to London and throughout Asia. Returning to his native Montreal in 1999, David co-founded Cordiant, a unique fund manager specialising in emerging market, private credit investments. As Chairman of the Management Committee and the Investment Committee, David has been directly involved in the analysis and approval of nearly 200 investments in more than 55 emerging countries.
David is a director of Windlough Enterprises and a member of the Government of Canada’s Infrastructure Advisory Board. He is Chairman of EMPEA’s Private Credit Council and Chairman of the Investment Committee for the BCS Foundation. He is past Chairman of the Canada/South Africa Chamber. He has been registered with the Securities Institute in the United Kingdom and the Securities and Exchange Commission in the United States, and he is a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society. He has been a contributor to and fundraiser for a number of local and international causes and he has travelled extensively around the world.
David is an honours graduate from the University of Guelph, where he studied Agricultural Economics, and a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D, November 2007). He guest lectures at McGill University and is a frequent speaker at conferences and in the media on matters relating to emerging markets.
